Privacy & Trust
Your information, handled with care.
This page is maintained by Greater Orange County Notary to answer common privacy questions about how we handle your information before, during, and after a mobile notary appointment.
What we collect
When you contact us, we collect only what we need to schedule and complete your notarization: your name, contact information, appointment location, and the type of document being notarized. At the appointment, California law requires us to verify your identity and record the transaction in our official notary journal.
How we use your information
Your information is used to confirm your appointment, complete the notarial act, and keep the records required by California notary law. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for marketing.
Document confidentiality
A notary's role is to witness signatures and verify identity — not to review the substance of your documents. We treat the contents of the documents you bring to an appointment as confidential and do not retain copies beyond what the notary journal requires.
Notary journal records
California requires every notary public to keep a sequential journal of official acts. These records are stored securely and are only disclosed when required by law, by court order, or by lawful request from the Secretary of State.
This website
This site is informational. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not run advertising trackers. If you reach out by phone or email, those messages are stored with the relevant service provider (your phone carrier or email provider) under their terms.
Questions or requests
If you have a question about your information, or you'd like to request a copy of a journal entry related to your own notarization, please contact us:
